This topic describes how to promote Projects to a remote Server. This promotion method occurs at the Project level, where Projects are bundled and then deployed in their entirety, with all dependencies between other Projects in working order (i.e. no errors). Remote promotion may require special licensing, depending on the type and number of remote servers being used.
Cleo recommends that you maintain separate test and production Server environments. Never promote Projects to a production environment until thorough testing in a test environment has been completed first.
- From the Admin Console's main menu bar, select your Production Server from the Server Environment drop-down. This example shows the selection of a remote test server.
- Connect to the server by signing into the Login screen. A valid user ID and password combination are required for server access. (By default, User ID = ebiadmin, and Password = password)
- From the Projects view, select the Project from the Workspace section, and drag it to the Server Projects section. The Project appears with a status of Bundled, not Deployed. Clicking the Bundle Project button accomplishes the same. At this point the Project has been packaged and made ready for deployment.
- From the Server Projects section, click the Deploy all bundled project(s) button . Note: Never cancel the deployment while in process. If the remote server is running (and not suspended), you will be prompted with a Server Not Suspended warning message. While you may proceed with deployment, it is always recommended to suspend your remote server before this final deployment step. Once successfully deployed, the Project now appears with a version/date/time stamp and a status of Deployed. The Project is now operational. However, certain objects (monitors, etc.) may still need to be started.
