The Cleo Integration Cloud Studio is a downloadable tool for building your own integrations that can be published to Cleo Integration Cloud. The Studio allows you to design, build, and optimize business process orchestrations, maps, and integrations. Upon completion, you can publish (deploy) them to your CIC production instance.
For a fresh install, you will download the CIC Studio from the CIC Cockpit's Integrations page. You will then install the Studio by using an Install Wizard which guides you through the process.
Downloading the latest CIC Studio guarantees access to the latest features, fixes, and Studio updates. It is good practice to periodically check for updated CIC Studio versions. Also, follow general best practices before updating.
Update directly from the Studio
New to v5.2.16: With this latest install, you will be able to download future updates directly from the CIC Studio. When an update is available, a banner notification will display at the top of the Studio, just below the Perspective labels. Selecting Learn More provides details of the update (via Release Notes) while selecting Update takes you through the actual update process.
The Help>Update CIC Studio menu option can be used to start the update as well.
When the update process completes, your CIC Studio will automatically restart and require you to sign in.
To check which current Studio version you have, select Help>View Studio Information from the main Studio menu.
See the community video to see this upgrade process in action.
Installing/updating the Studio
The CIC Studio can be installed on Windows and MAC operating systems. Please review the minimum System Requirements.
Please ensure you have Administrator rights. Note that the specifics of your implementation may require more resources than outlined. Please consult your Customer Account Manager or Cleo Support for more information.
Update Best Practices
- Make sure all your Active Projects and related resources have been committed to an SVN repository (or other version control system).
- As an added measure, some users choose to back up the Workspace directory and artifacts.
- If you are not updating to the latest version of CIC Studio (v5.2.16), you will be prompted to Choose your Workspace folder (shown below). Add your existing Workspace directory location.
- A best practice is to rename the existing install folder by placing "_OLD" at the end, and then install the new Studio and accept the default folder. This allows you to "toggle" between the old and new, and if eventually, you don't need the old install anymore, simply delete that folder. You can also uninstall the older Studio as an added step.
Starting the Studio
Please refer to these sign-in steps to launch and begin using the Studio.

Is it best to uninstall and reinstall when there is an update? I ask because I get this error when running the install.
I don't want to end up with a bunch of install folders on my machine.
Please see the revised "Updating CIC Studio: Best Practices" section above, which includes recommendations when managing multiple installs.
