Creating a Sales Order
We may create a sales order after receiving a purchase order. When we first create the sales order, the following apply:
- Confirmation status of initial PO is Pending
- Sales order status is Pending.
- From the Message Hub, select the PO that you wish to generate a sales order from.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon(three dots) and select Send to OMS. This action will make the Buyer’s purchase order available to them as Sales Order that is ready for confirmation and processing.
Viewing the Sales Order List
To view the list of all sales orders, select Sales Order from the left navigation menu. This shows all sales orders, including their Confirmation Status (Confirmed or Pending) and overall Status (Open, Completed, or Pending).
The header ribbon displays a count of all sales orders in various statuses. Click a card to filter accordingly. Clicking on the card again clears the filter, thereby displaying all sales orders once more.
To search for a specific Sales Order, enter the sales order number or purchase order number, and click the search button for results.
View Sales Order Details
To view details of a specific sales order, select the sales order, click the vertical ellipsis and select View. Another option is to just on the hyperlinked number field.
When a sales order is opened, you will see the buyer-prescribed order management process that must be followed for the life cycle of the order. You will also see the current progression status of any sales order within this life cycle.
Key fields that display include: Buyer’s PO#, PO Date, Cancel if not delivered by date, etc.
Key tabs that are available include important information related to the original Purchase Order: Bill To, Ship To, Terms of Sale, Shipment Details, Charges & Allowances, etc.
Update Sales Order Details for PO Changes
Sales orders can be updated (automatically or manually) from PO changes received from connected EDI/API buyer Channels. Please note that appropriate options should be enabled at Settings > Org Default > Transaction Control Number before sending PO Changes to OMS.
To update sales order details for PO changes, select the PO change to which you will update the sales order. Click the ellipses (three dots) icon and Select Send to OMS.
We can also generate the sales order automatically from the Purchase Order, if we Post PO Changes automatically upon receipt from Settings > Org Default > Transaction Control Number.
