Mapping or relating LDAP groups to Clarify roles is the next step towards LDAP integration. This takes place in the LDAP Group/Clarify Role Mappings area of the Profile Details section. Once established, this relationship allows a user account to be authorized, that is, to see if it has any permissions; Clarify validates that a user belongs to the group which has been related to a role.
- Click Add Mapping.
- Enter the LDAP Group, which must be a distinguished path to your LDAP directory, and must meet the specific format requirements per the LDAP server.
- Select the Clarify Role to be assigned to the LDAP Group, and click OK.
The mapping now appears in the Group/Role table. Repeat for all required group-to-role mappings.
Note: By enabling and configuring the LDAP integration, but not mapping groups to roles, access to Clarify will be limited to that of the “User” role in Clarify, which contains no permissions. This may be the desired path for giving users read-only access.
