The Admin > Users page gives you control over users on your CIC system by displaying a list of users and allowing you to perform a variety of administrative tasks, including inviting new users, updating and deleting existing users, and controlling user permissions.
Viewing Users
Go to Admin > Users. The Users page displays information about users in your system. Users have a role associated with them that grants some default permissions for accessing the system. Admin users can grant additional permissions that, together with a user's role, determine what access a user has to the system. See About Roles.
Inviting Users
- Click the Add New User button . The Add Users page displays.
- In the Invite Users field, enter a list of email addresses for users you want to invite.
- Select a Role for the users you are inviting. See About Roles.
- Specify any additional Permissions. See About User Permissions.
- Optional - Write a note to be included in the email received by invitees.
- Click Invite.
Updating User Information
Click a user's email address to display detailed information about that user. You can update the selected user's role and permissions as described in Controlling role and user permissions.
Deleting Users
Select one or more users and click the Delete User button . Use the check box in the table header to select all users.
Controlling role and user permissions
You can control your users' permissions for certain parts of the CIC Cockpit.
For example, you could allow a user access to job data, but not allow them access to Access Points, Endpoints, and Data Flows.
You use Roles and Permissions to exercise this control.
About Roles
A Role is a set of permissions bundled together to provide an easy way to assign those permissions to a user. A user's Role also affects how you assign optional permissions (see About Permissions). There are two Roles available.
Role | Description |
---|---|
Normal User | By default, users with the Normal role have access to the Job List page of the CIC Gateway Cockpit. See About Permissions. |
Admin | Provides all permissions, including access to user management functionality. |
About Permissions
You can select additional permissions to assign to the users you are inviting or editing.
Permissions | Description |
---|---|
Access to Jobs |
Allows the user to view Jobs. Always assigned to all CIC Gateway users. This field is read-only. |
Access to Integration Configuration | Allows the user access to view and edit Endpoints, Access Points, and Data Flows. Available for Admin users and Normal users. |
