The Message Details page displays when you click a message on the Messages page.
The message you click appears as a selected tile in the left panel. If the message is of a type that is linked to other message types (for example, a Purchase Order that has been linked to other message types in the Order-to-Cash process such as the PO Acknowledgement, Advanced Ship Notice, and Invoice), then all the related messages of those other message types also appear in chronological order in the left panel. You can click on any of the messages in the left panel to view their details on the right. The left panel view allows you to keep track of the status and details of all the messages related to the currently selected message in a single view.
If there are more than 100 messages associated with the selected message, and its position falls beyond the 100th message, a notification is shown to indicate its position.
The main part of the page on the right displays detailed information about your currently selected message under the Summary tab. To view detailed information about another message, click the corresponding tile in the left column.
If you click a message with an Issue status icon (open or resolved), the right pane displays two tabs: Summary (see Viewing detailed information and raw message data) and Issue (see Tracking issues with messages).
Viewing detailed information and raw message data
You can view detailed information about a message and the raw message data itself from the Summary tab on the Message Detail page.
You can click the View link in the top right corner of the tab to view the raw message data in a separate dialog box. If functional acknowledgement data exists for the message, you can view it here, too. Alternatively, you can view functional acknowledgement data (if it exists) directly from the Messages page Tile view by clicking the FA icon in the lower right corner of a tile.
You can view message data in its original format or in its translated format, if available.
You can download the data being displayed (original message, translated message, or functional acknowledgement, if available) using the Download button.
In addition, you can use the Compare With menu to compare any two of the three messages (original message, translated message, and functional acknowledgement) side-by-side.
Tracking issues related to messages on your system
You can use the Issue tab on the Message Detail page to understand and track issues related to the messages on your system. The information displayed on the Issue tab is extracted from the issue tracking system.
The comments from the issue are displayed in the Comments section of the Issue tab.
You can follow the issue by clicking the Follow button at the top right corner of the Issues tab. A user who is following the issue is notified via email whenever the ticket is updated.
Issue descriptions and comments can have attachments. Click on an attachment to open it in a browser.
You can add your own comments to the ticket in the Comments text box (if you have the appropriate permissions).
Click Messages to return to the Messages page.
You can reprocess messages for various reasons. For example, a message might have an error or a message might get lost or become corrupted downstream at some point. To reprocess a message, click the Reprocess button . The selected message is reprocessed and the reprocessing status is displayed in the tile with the rest of the information about the message.
