Understanding Endpoints in CIC Gateway

An Endpoint represents a source or destination for data you want to move. For instance, you create Endpoints for each of your customers, partners, and back-end systems that you want to integrate. An Endpoint is defined within CIC, but the actual data source resides outside of CIC. You can create different types of endpoints, including AS2, SFTP, and FTP, depending on what protocol you intend for the Endpoint to either send or receive data over.

Partner Onboarding

Partner Onboarding is the process of connecting your customers and trading partner community to CIC so that you can exchange files as part of an integration. You use Endpoints to specify transfer protocol and data source information for your customer or trading partners 

Connecting to Back-end Systems

Connecting to your back-end systems is the process of making it possible for your internal systems to communicate with CIC. You use Endpoints to connect to your on-premise back-end systems.
