Updating the D365 BC Connector

Changes and updates that affect an Application Connector and its objects might occur in the cloud application or CIC. In this case, you can easily update your existing Connector Project using the Cloud Connector Update option in CIC Studio.

Prerequisites: Please note that your Project must already exist in your Project Explorer and it must be open. Otherwise, the Project will not be available to be selected for updating.

1. From the main menu, select Cloud Connector Update.

   

2. Select a Cloud Connector project to update.
3. Select a specific vault entry containing the required auth information.
4. If you want to add new entity or remove existing entities, select the Add new entities for Schema generation and/or remove existing entities checkbox and click Next. Otherwise, skip to step #7 below.
5. Add or remove entities from the connector.

   To remove entities from the connector, move them from the Selected Entities pane, which displays the entities selected during connector creation, to the Available Entities pane.

   To add entities, move them from the Available Entities pane to the Selected Entities pane.

   When you are done moving entities between the panes, click Next.
   Note: Only 500 entities can be selected at any given time. As the number of selected entities increases, the time required to build the project also increases.

   

6. Verify the information is correct and click Finish to update the Connector.

   

   The Recreate Connector Objects checkbox is selected by default. This recreates and overrides all existing Connector Projects and their resources. This is useful when changes to a Schema occur outside of Clarify and after the initial Connector Project was created. For example, when a new custom object or field was added by the external application, but the initial Cloud Connector was created before those changes, selecting this option uses these new changes.

7. If you do not want to add a new entity or remove existing entities. Do not select Add new entities for Schema generation and/or remove existing entities and click Next.

   

8. Verify the information is correct and click Finish to update the Connector.

   

   Selecting the Recreate Connector Objects checkbox will recreate and override all existing Connector Projects and their resources. This is useful when changes to a Schema occur outside of CIC Studio and after the initial Connector Project was created. For example, a new custom object or field was added by the external application, but the initial Cloud Connector was made before those changes. By selecting to recreate, these new changes will be utilized.
