Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) enables you to exchange data within your business ecosystem, which includes your customers, partners, suppliers, marketplaces, and other e-commerce platforms and your backend systems, whether on-premise or in the cloud. One key to making these transactions possible is connecting CIC to the various parts of your business ecosystem.
Connecting your customers, partners, and suppliers to CIC is called partner onboarding, and entails configuring CIC to exchange data with a given customer or partner using the correct protocol and data source. The right side of the diagram above represents partner onboarding.
Inside CIC, you create endpoints, which indicate the protocol and data source for communications with a customer or partner, and data flows, which specify a source and destination for the data transfer. Typically, the data sources you use for partner onboarding endpoints reside outside of your domain. See Overview of Connecting to Partners for more details.
Connecting to your backend is similar to partner onboarding in that you create endpoints and data flows, however, the data sources for these endpoints are typically inside your domain. The left side of the diagram above represents connecting to your backend. See Overview of Connecting to your Backend for more details.
