Connecting Gateway to Partners

Connecting your customers and trading partners to Gateway is one step in partner onboarding and enables the exchange of files as part of a B2B integration. You build each connection from two objects. An endpoint specifies a transfer protocol and a data source; a data flow pairs two endpoints as the source and destination of a transfer. Endpoints are defined in Gateway, but in most cases, the data source itself is a location on your partner's or customer's system.

Gateway supports the following connection options. The appropriate option depends on the transfer protocol your partner uses and, for server-based protocols, which side hosts the server.

• AS2: Exchange files securely over the internet using the AS2 protocol. 
• SFTP: Connect to your partner's SFTP server as a client. To let your partner connect to you instead, see Partner Mailbox below. 
• FTP(S): Connect to your partner's FTP or FTPS server as a client. To let your partner connect to you instead, see Partner Mailbox below. 
• Partner Mailbox: Host a mailbox where your partner picks up and drops off files. Choose one or more access methods:
  • SFTP: Your partner connects to the mailbox as an SFTP client.
  • FTP(S): Your partner connects to the mailbox as an FTP or FTPS client.
  • Cleo Portal: Your partner logs in to a simple web interface and uploads or downloads files directly. Useful for partners with no automated connection, and as a manual fallback when there are temporary issues with an automated connection.
