Connecting to Partners

Connecting your customers and trading partners to CIC is one step in partner onboarding and enables the exchange of files as part of a B2B integration. Each connection is built from an endpoint and a data flow. See Overview of connecting CIC to your business ecosystem.

CIC provides multiple options for connecting to partners, depending on the transfer protocol they support and which side hosts the connection. The following connection methods are available.

• AS2: Exchange files securely over the internet using the AS2 protocol.
• S3: Exchange files through a shared Amazon S3 storage.
• Azure Blob Storage: Exchange files through shared Azure Blob Storage.
• SFTP: Exchange files through an SFTP server hosted by either party. If your partner wants to connect as an SFTP client, you can use Partner Mailbox as an SFTP server. 
• FTP(S): Exchange files through an FTP or FTPS server hosted by either party. If your partner wants to connect as an FTP client, you can use Partner Mailbox as an FTP server. 
• Partner Mailbox: Exchange files through a managed mailbox accessible by SFTP, FTP(S), or Cleo Portal.
• Email: Exchange files through email.
• API: Exchange data through web service APIs. See Web Service Consumer objects.
